The end of the road

Basketball season is finally over.

Both teams pulled out strong, finishing 1st and 2nd in district.

I guess I expected something special to take place, being my senior and final year in high school.

Although I didn't play, I was ready to go to every playoff game and hopefully to regionals. I was prepared to even go to state, if we made it that is.

However, that didn't happen.

My crazy friends and I had huge plans for dressing up at the following playoff games. With each game getting more elaborate and crazier.

We were even planning to wear our old junior high cheerleading outfits to fully create the ultimate playoff experience.

So, even though basketball has officially ended, we have several things to look forward to: track, tennis, baseball, softball and winding down the final semester in high school...

Who are we kidding?

Let's get serious here.

I have no ran track since 8th grade... almost 4 years ago.

So, why would I randomly run track my senior year?

There are a number of reasons why...

**I want to be in shape.

**I want to be in a sport that is actually considered a sport. Apparently, not everybody considers tennis to be a sport. Go Figure.

**I want to feel the adrenaline that rushes through my body right before the gun/whistle/buzzer goes off.

**Why not? It's my senior year!

What was my first day of track like?

**Warm up stretches... Mhmmm, felt good!

**Warm up lap, at 50%.

**3 200's...

My conclusion: Summer can't come soon enough and while I'm waiting, track it is. :)

The After Math...

Every year, around the same time, giant corporate business (Wal-Mart, Walgreens, United, etc...) will begin stocking their store shelves with oversized teddy bears, mountains of every variety of chocolate fathomable, fake and real flowers... The list goes on and on.

Let's not get a head of ourselves...

It's the day after Valentine's Day and what do we have to say for our Valentine's Day Spectacular?

A $30 oversized teddy bear that can only be described as hideous and repugnant or who knows how much a dozen roses cost that has already begun to fade, shrivel, and die. Or, to get fancy, the gargantuan box of disgusting chocolate candy.

Since when has Valentine's Day been only about gifts and memorabilia?

Shouldn't Valentine's Day be more about spending time with your lover, soul mate, partner and letting them know that you love them in other ways then besides spending lots of money on repetitive and stereotypical gifts. Steer away from the cliche of Valentine's Day and mix it up little bit.

While I may sound like a depressed loser, quite the contrary. I spent Valentine's Day with my boyfriend. I only thought I would offer a different side from the typical view point of this romantic holiday. :)

My Typical Day...

So what is the typical day of a high school senior?

6:25- Rise and Shine; into the shower

6:45- Drying and Straightening my hair

7:15- Make-Up

7:40- I leave, on my way to school

[@ school...]

8:00- Anatomy and Physiology

9:00- College Algebra

9:44- Yearbook Teacher Aide

10:22- Yearbook

11:33- College period

12:15- Lunch

12:44- Economics

1:30- College period

2:19- Tutorials

2:51- Tennis

3:40- Done, done, done. :)

After school, off to do homework...
